Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #5

This week we have decided on a monochromatic challenge, each of us using different colour groupings as specified below:

And we will couple our colour allocations with this sketch from Julie Bonner:

We can make a CARD or a SCRAPBOOK layout OR BOTH!!
Can’t wait to see - Rach n Maree - what we all come up with and how different the same layout can be just by changing colour! I think this one will be very interesting xox

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenges - Creation #4

I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday so far.  Just a reminder of the Challenge we set ourselve last week -

Colours: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.
Stamp Set: Level 1 Hostess Silhouette Sentiments

Here is my challenge creation for our 4th challenge:

This frame ideas has been rattling around in my head for sometime now and this seemed like a good time to make it a reality.  The colours just seemed to help it all come together.

My son's teacher this year is a new graduate and he has been just great for this class.  He has engaged the whole class in his excitement and enthusiasm for his upcoming wedding from the beginning of the year. 2K were across all the preparations and Mr Knibbs fiancee even visited the class a couple of times so the kids became part of the day.  A handful of kids made the journey up to the NSW Hunter Valley to a gorgeous rustic chapel in Pokolbin and watched Mr Knibbs marry his Princess. A lovely celebration of the relationship these two young sweethearts have with a class and the kids are in the official photos as well.  This page is a tribute to a very special day in the lives of some special people.

Hop on over and see what Maree and Rach have created with this challenge, I'm sure you'll love them

Thanks for looking

Daffodil Day 2011

This year, seeing as I had so much fun with the Biggest Morning Tea, I have signed up to sell some Daffodil Day merchandise.  Here is a photo of all the cool things that were delivered by a lovely - and very wet - courier man the other day :-

There are heaps of groovy things in here - 5 decorated bulldog clips for $6, a keyring with little daffodils for $7, 3 different syles of pen $5 each and of course the gorgeous Superhero 'Dougal' bears for $10 and the footy for $7....guess what I have my eye on!!  There are also the lovely Daffodil pins in a range of prices.

I am even thinking I may need to have a mini 'Yellow Daffodil' event just for fun so stay tuned.  Officially Daffodil Day is August 26th, so I have some time to plan a bash!!!

For the next couple of weeks I will carry the box of bits around so if you would like to purchase any of the goodies and I am catching up with you sometime soon there will be ample chance to do so and support the great work of the Cancer Council in their efforts to research, prevent and one day cure Cancer.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine we have been having today (ie. lack of torrential  rain like the last 3 days!!)

Thanks for dropping by

Adele

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #4

This week we have set a Colour and Stamp set challenge. We have chosen to use the colours Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla :

For our stamp set we have chosen to use the Level 1 Hostess set called  'Silhouette Sentiments', which looks like this:

Again, we have stipulated for the challenge that the creation should be a scrapbook layout!  However if you want to play along and make a card instead, that would be really fun too.  Can’t wait to see how similar or different our layouts are.  Check in on Monday, here and with  Rach n Maree to see how we went with this weeks challenge xox
******************************
And remember that all the Hostess sets in the current catalogue will no longer be available from August 31st....so if you have your eye on one now is the time to host a workshop in your own home - you can own the Level 1 Hostess set above by having a workshop that achieves $300 in sales AND you will have $30 to spend on anything in the current Stampin' Up! catalogue

Thanks for looking!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge - Creation #3!

For this challenge I chose to scrap my Little Mushie Monsters making Honey Joys with their Dad...'cause I haven't JOURNALLED on the PAGE yet, I thought it best to clarify here and now!!!

While I was a little scared by the colours at first....and there were a few near amputations of monsters in the cutting out exercise...it all came together beautifully and I just love this page, especially the cheeky boys in it xoxo

I have used the Extreme Elements stamp set for the effects behind my monsters. I love this stamp set for boy and male cards and pages because it has great images for all things blokey....read mud, dirt and grimey grungy STUFF!!! Plus you can use colours outside your comfort zone and they look great because the stamps just enhance the colours and vice versa! Enough jibbering, hop on over to see what Rach and Maree created for this challenge. I know you will love them. See ya xoxo

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #3

Welcome back for another Cheaper than Therapy Challenge. This week we have stamped 12 monsters each from the Stampin’® Up! ‘Make A Monster’ stamp set onto the striped and spotty papers of the Regals Paper Stack. We used the following colours :

Here is a reminder what the 'Make a Monster' set looks like - from page 62 of the current Stampin' Up! Ideas Book & Catalogue:

The only other specification we added to the challenge was to use the images in a scrapbook layout!
Can’t wait to see how similar or different our layouts end up Rach n Maree!
We hope you can join in the fun, see you next week when we reveal our creations.

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge - Creation #2

Ok, so I think I cheated a little with this one....I stole some of the journalling element to make room for an extra photo....on both pages!!.....but I did put journalling space....AND it is written on!!! A major coup for me let me tell you!

Here is my creation for our challenge using the playdate papers and a sketch from Julie Bonner:

I hope you like it, I'm happy with it. Thanks for looking and surf on over to Rachael and Maree's blogs and see what they created for this challenge.

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #2

For our challenge this week we have chosen to follow this sketch, created by Julie Bonner:

and combine it with the 'Playdate' pack of Designer Series Paper which has these colours in it:

I must confess to bringing this challenge on myself as I suggested the papers - having bought a pack I was a bit afraid to use it because the images were a bit 'bright' for me. So this challenge will be an interesting one. So next Monday, come back and see what Rach, Maree and I have created within the boundaries of this week challenge. See you then xox

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #1 Submission

Here is my take on our first challenge - I think I have a bit of a thing for 3D projects just at the minute. This is what I came up with using the colours Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi for inks and cardstock and the 'Slice of Life' hostess stamp set:

I found the templates I have used here while roaming the blog-e-sphere so if you would like details of them please email me on delidoo@netspace.net.au Tomorrow we will reveal the next challenge we have set for ourselves.
If you would like to see what Rach and Maree have created, pop over to their blogs and see.

Biggest Morning Tea Event in May

This year I decided I would be brave and host a Biggest Morning Tea event. It actually turned into a Biggest AFTERNOON Tea event by the time a suitable date was found allowing for Soccer commitments!!

Inspiration was found globally for the projects and there ended up being one or two too many perhaps. 11 lovely ladies attended the crafty afternoon and these are the projects we created:

I also applied to Stampin’ Up!® for a donation box to run an auction as part of the event. Well a big box of retired goodies arrived and 32 lots later we were well set to have a great day. Thankyou so much to Stampin’ Up!® , a wonderful company who so generously supports their Demonstrators in fundraising endeavours.

After a very civilised, if not dreadfully polite, auction of craft items we raised a total of $472 on the day plus $60 from online donations. A huge thank you to all the wonderful ladies who attended, you helped make the event so much more fun. I will be holding the event next year....but with much SIMPLER projects!!
